Eishin Yoza was born in 1951 in Okinawa (Ishigaki island). At the age of 18, he moved to Tokyo to enrol at the Shinjuku Art School where he studied Occidental painting. In 1976, he went to Kyoto to study traditional kimono design (Sumi-é). He left Japan in 1978 on a sailling boat from Yokohama to Alaska first and then moved on to other states in the U.S. He visited Seattle, San-Francisco, Los-Angeles, and New York, doing various jobs to pay for his trip.
He arrived in Europe in 1981 and decided to settle down in Paris where he married his current French wife in 1982. He copied the old masters at the Louvre museum and discovered the various techniques of etching and engraving. Since then he has been regularly invited to attend numerous Parisian art festivals such as the "Salon d'Automne ", "Salon des Artistes Français, "Salon National des Beaux-Arts" at the "National Glerie de Grand Palais" in Paris
